''Four Walls (Memoirs Of A Pathetic Lover)''

''Memoirs of A Pathetic Lover' started in the winter of 2005 in T.L's bedroom studio. What started off as experiments in home-recording eventually ended up as a very serious hobby-album-turned-obsession.

2008 finally saw the release of the album, a complete do-it-yourself production released independently online, featuring T.L. in the producers seat and all instruments except drums, recorded and performed by Swiss Drummer extraordinaire, Massimo Buonanno.

Album Credits
T.L. Mazumdar: Piano/Keyboards/Keytar/Lead Vocals/Background Vocals/Spoken Word/Syn Basses/4-String Bass/ Electric and Acoustic Guitars/Programming. Massimo Buonanno: Drums/Percussion (Tracks 1,2,3,4,6 and 10) Charmaine Baines: Vocals on track 4. All Tracks Written, Composed, Arranged, Performed and Produced By T.L. Mazumdar. 2007 saw the birth of this band brought together by T.L. to play interpret his album live. A challenging and exciting project (considering the very contrasting production one-man band  production of the album) taken head on by the following brilliant and lunatic gentlemen:

David Lemaitre: Guitars/Vocals

Christian Huber: Drums

Markus Ganter: Bass

T.L. Mazumdar: Keys/Vocals

T.L. Mazumdar's Esc@pe

A drone. A pulse. Whispered words. Ever-increasing colours that proceed to build up a wall of sound with only one man taking responsibility for every shade--alone.

'T.L. Mazumdars esc@pe' started off as a 15 minute solo introduction to one of the numerous sessions T.L. had led/participated in at the tuesday night jams that go by the name 'Jazz Ohne Stress' at the Waldsee Club. Before long, 15 minutes turned into 20, 30, 45, 60 and eventually over an hour and more and 'T.L. Mazumdars' esc@pe' was doing club dates at numerous venues.

T.L.'s interest in ambient music, elektronika, poetry and his East-Indian roots find a canvas here as does his passion for the Roland AX-7, an instrument he uses in a highly personalised style to play what he calls 'Damazflute'. Contrary to what a lot of people often mistakenly think, all the music is triggered, played and partially even composed (!) live.

A.F.R.O.TATION

Stafford-based Jamaican-British singer does justice to the first five letters of her name with very little effort. The Charmaine Baines Band (D) does a very mean RnB/Soul/Reggae night the way it was supposed to be--raw, energetic, alive and of course with charm.

Charmaine can also be heard on 'Rudebox', the new Robbie Williams album.

A.F.R.O.TATION (Germany) Is:

Charmaine Baines: Vocals
Schroeder: Drums
Arpi Kettrl: Bass
Markus Halver: Guitars
T.L. Mazumdar: Keyboards
Oliver Wendl: Sax

T.L. Mazumdar Quintet (2004-2006)

''...we started off as a trio, turned into a quartet and decided a quintet was even better.''

Indeed the roots of the T.L. Mazumdar Quintet trace itself back to Christian Huber, Peter Steinbach and T.L. Mazumdar--a piano trio gone bad.

An attempt to duck the various connotations the word 'Jazz' brings with it and to concentrate more on the word 'Music' led the band getting together (with the added arsenal of Heiko Gottberg on Guitars and Ralph Baumann on Saxophones), a repertoire consisting mostly of original compositions and unassuming interpretations of better-known pieces under the motto ''...jazz the way it probably shouldn't be played.''. The very different musical backgrounds of the individual musicians and the unique way in which they blend only add to the purists irritation.

The T.L. Mazumdar Quintet is:

Christian Huber: Drums
Peter Steinbach: Double Bass, 5 String Fretless Bass, Alembic Bass
T.L. Mazumdar: Piano, Keyboards, Roland AX-7, Loops, Vocals
Heiko Gottberg: Guitars

''Ball Gefuehl''

(2005-2007)

The private German Theater Group Panoptikum GmbH (www.theater-panoptikum.de) have made breaking boundaries an everyday affair for themselves.

T.L.'s relationship with Panoptikum started in may 2005 when he joined the group as live musician for Panoptikums latest production 'Ballgefuehl'--a contemplative and eloquent story of a passionate footbal coach, that has been selected as an official piece for the FIFA world cup to be held in Germany this year. Over the year he has started working, in collaboration with artistic director/executive producer Ralf Buron and Freiburg guitarist Felix Groteloh as
co-composer/co producer for the soundtrack, which was released on CD  recorded singer Keka Ghoshalin India for the former.

Combo Lobino

(2004-2005)

Pushing limits of audacity would be an apt way of describing Combo-Lobino 04-05’s point during the three month 6 nights a week gig they did at the Pallazo Colombino, one of Europe’s leading dinner shows directed by the very creative head of the event mangement firm ‘Event Now Freiburg', Stefan Schönfeld.. While others settle for painlessly safe antiseptic background music, Stefan Schönfeld, in collaboration with band-leader Dieter Schröder, spends a good part of the year coming up with ways to entertain people with an array of highly-crafted, intelligent and humorous sets of music rare to find in such settings.

Combo Lobino 04-05 is (was!) :

Dieter Schröder: Drums/Leader
Hendrik Gosmann: Basses
Markus Halver: Guitars/Vocals
T.L. Mazumdar: keyboards/vocals
Sascha Bendiks: Vocals, Accordion, Guitars
Sylvia Oelkrug: Violin, Vocals

Willie Oteri band (D) (2005-2006)

Californian-based Guitarist/Composer is one of those rare people who have, to their credit, not one, but two careers as a musician. One which saw him on stage with names such as Doobie Brothers, Chaka Khan, Bob Seger and Neil Young among others, and a second, after a trip to hell and back (read more at willieoteri.com), that saw the emergence of an innovative bandleader and recording artist with names like Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter and Mike Keneally among others for colleagues and co-musicians.

When in Germany, T.L. does the honours of taking over keyboard duties for Willies band here which plays a heady conoction of freely improvised rock music which, like it's leader's experiences, can also take one to hell, heaven and back.

The Willie Oteri Band (D) Is:

Willie Oteri: Guitars
Schroeder: Drums
Jan Fitschen/Hendrik Gosmann/Markus Reuter (Alternating): Bass
Johnny B. Gomer: Guitars
T.L. Mazumdar: Keyboards

(p.s. ..still waiting for the re-union guys!)
